Better Block Follow Up Meeting

A message from our President, Jackson Cooper:

“We hope everyone had a great time at the 2018 Woodlawn Better Block. Together with the Center for Neighborhoods, we saw improvements in beautification (murals, more trees and plants), traffic safety (parking bumpouts and crosswalks), gathering spaces (a beer garden and lots more outdoor seating!), and much more. But the ultimate purpose of Better Block isn’t a 2-day party; the goal is to test out ideas so we can make greater – and safer – use of underutilized areas.
The Beechmont Neighborhood Association is inviting you to come to a public meeting next Thursday (6/28) at 7 p.m. at the Beechmont Community Center and give feedback on what you liked and what you’d change. The BNA board will have a debrief with the Center for Neighborhoods soon, and we’d love to come with plenty of community input. This is your chance to voice your opinion!”
We had such a blast participating in the planning and execution of Better Block! Now we are hoping to capitalize on that momentum and see what you liked – or didn’t like – in hopes that we can make some permanent improvements on Woodlawn!

Farmers Market and Better Block

Summertime is finally here (if it will just stop raining) – and we have some great things happening right now in Beechmont.

This weekend, we will finally get to experience Better Block on our very own Woodlawn Avenue! Click the link to find out more! The BNA’s Better Block committee has been doing a lot of work, along with Center for Neighborhoods, to get ready for the event, and we hope to see you there! The buildings along Woodlawn are getting all dressed up for the event – some even have gotten new coats of paint!
