BNA Board Membership & Other News

Have you been considering ways you can get more involved in your community–like maybe becoming a BNA board member? BNA annual board member elections will be held the 3rd Monday in November. A preliminary list of nominees will be presented at our next regular monthly meeting on Monday, October 16th – that’s today!! 7 PM at the Iroquois branch of the library.

If you are interested in serving on BNA board please contact Joan Shepherd, Nomination Committee Chair; her email address is Joan will take the appropriate steps to get you added to our preliminary list of nominees.
Nominee membership fees must be paid in full at least 30 days prior to election date and nominee must reside within BNA neighborhood boundaries in order to qualify to serve on the board. All neighbors are encouraged to participate.

Our meetings are always the third Monday of every month at 7 PM at the library. You can always find us there, or you can reach out through this blog or our Facebook page.

Aside from BNA meetings at the library, I’m there about once a week picking up a new book. It really is one of my favorite spots in the whole neighborhood, and we are lucky to have such a great resource right in our own backyards. If you love the library as much as I do, consider becoming a Friend of the Library:

BNA Harvest Festival

Thank you to everyone who came out last weekend to the Annual Harvest Festival!

Turnout was great, and I know all of our farmers and artisans were all very pleased, as were we! This year, there was a vote for favorite farmer and favorite artisan, and the people have spoken:

Favorite Farmer: Hank Mercer

Favorite Artisan: Donald Taylor

For that honor, Hank and Donald received custom money belts that they will surely be showing off at our last Market, as well as next season!

Be sure to check out our LAST Farmer’s Market of the year this Saturday, October 7 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. As always, we look forward to seeing you all out and about! Be sure to stop by our BNA booth and say hello!
