Project Warm

Since 1982 Project Warm (www.projectwarm.org) has provided free weatherization services for people who find it difficult to pay high utility bills. This service is completely free of charge, to residents of Jefferson County who are 60 years and older or physically challenged.

Project Warm’s annual Blitz weatherization service project recruits and trains volunteer teams who install clear, interior window covers, to help keep out some of the cold winter air. The 23rd Annual Project Warm Blitz is Saturday November 9 and Saturday November 16, 2013.

There are two new dimensions to this event for this year. For the first time, there is a special emphasis on providing for the needs of veterans and we are currently reaching out to veterans who can benefit from this free service.

Also, for the first time, we would like to issue a challenge to UK and U of L fans, to see which fan base can bring in the most volunteers. And, one lucky team of 4 volunteers will receive gift cards to buy some of their favorite team’s merchandise.
