LEGAL AID OFFERS FREE ASSISTANCE

 

LOUISVILLE, KY—The Legal Aid Society announces dates for free legal clinics offered during the months of October, November, and December of 2013.  Please note some clinics require a reservation in advance. See the RSVP line for each event for reservation information.

 

 

WHAT:                          ASK-A-LAWYER CLINIC

WHEN:                         Tuesday, October 8, at 6:00 PM

WHERE:                       Catholic Enrichment Center (3146 W. Broadway)

PURPOSE:                   A Legal Aid advocate will be available for individual consultation about civil legal problems and how to apply for Legal Aid services.

RSVP:                          No appointment is necessary.  First come, first served.

WHEN:                         Thursday, October 10, at 4:00 PM

WHEN:                         Tuesday, October 15, at 2:00 PM

WHERE:                       Louisville Free Public Library Main Branch (301 York St.)

PURPOSE:                   An attorney will be on hand to discuss the expungement process and which charges can be expunged.  Attendees are encouraged to bring a copy of their criminal record which shows the disposition of each case.  A copy of the record may be obtained from Court Archives located in the basement of the Old Jail Building at 514 West Liberty Street in Louisville.

PURPOSE:                   See how you can get plugged in to all the opportunities Metro Community Services and Revitalization has to offer.  From getting access to a second-chance checking account to information on opening your own business, there’s something for everyone at this session.
