Gang Awareness

In this informative and educational seminar, gangs that are currently active in the Louisville area and throughout Kentucky will be discussed.  Details about gang activity, such as the crimes they are associated with, recruiting strategies, gang signs and symbols and other identifiers will be presented. 

This seminar is free, but registration is required.

Presenter:  Detective Scott A. Sturgeon, is a 21 year veteran of law enforcement and is currently assigned to the Crime Information Center with LMPD.  Scott is a gang investigator and police instructor.  Scott was previously a deputy sheriff at JCSO as well as a correctional officer at the Luther Luckett Correctional Complex.  His specialized assignments include the Special Response Team, Joint Emergency Services unit as well as the Honor Guard. Scott is an army veteran and combat veteran of Iraq, who served as a Senior Intelligence Analyst.
