LEGAL AID TO PROVIDE FREE LIFE-PLANNING DOCUMENTS TO VETERANS

 

Louisville, KY—The Legal Aid Society is offering Wills for Warriors, a free service for low-income veterans in need of life-planning documents.

Wills for Warriors provides free legal documents, such as Wills, Health Care Surrogates, Powers of Attorney and Living Wills, to local veterans. Interested veterans will be paired with an attorney who will prepare the legal documents at no cost.

Wills for Warriors is a part of the Public Service Project of the Kentucky Bar Association’s Annual Conference to be held June 19th through 21st at the Galt House.

The Legal Aid Society and volunteer attorneys are able to provide this service to low-income veterans in Jefferson and surrounding counties through generous funding from the Kentucky Bar Foundation, Equal Justice Works, and AmeriCorps.

The mission of the Legal Aid Society is to pursue justice for people in poverty.  Legal Aid provides free legal services to low-income families and individuals facing serious threats to their physical and economic well-being.  Those assisted include the elderly, children, victims of domestic violence, and other vulnerable groups.  To learn more visit, www.laslou.org.
