JEFFERSON COUNTY MASTER GARDENER ASSOCIATION
and the
LOUISVILLE NATURE CENTER
are partnering together this year to present
Gardenaganza at the Louisville Nature Center. 
This plant sale will feature native plants from Dropseed Nursery, herbs from Thieneman’s Herbs and Perennials, vegetables, shrubs, trees, and

more from the Jefferson County Master Gardener Association.

 There will be a Silent Auction, Garden Treasures, rain barrels, and other gardening items.
Jefferson County Horticulture Agents will be on hand to answer your gardening questions, and Master Gardeners will have educational displays and tours of the Sensory and Rain Gardens.
Music will be provided by Hominy and Grizz!
There will be a StoryWalkTM for children, and the Squallis Puppeteers’
 Owl will be on hand from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM.
PLEASE COME JOIN IN THE FUN!
This event is the major fundraiser for the JCMGA and the LNC, both 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations.

Interested in learning more about your antiques?

The Brennan House Antique Fair is a fantastic opportunity for you to speak with experts and learn more about your own antiques! From silver to estate jewelry and china to artwork, experts from several 
different local businesses will be on hand to answer all of your questions!  

Meet the Experts!
* The Watch Shop:  
Brian Barry from the reputable downtown business The Watch Shop, will be present to answer any questions you may have about your antique timepieces. The Watch Shop is located on South Fourth Street and is a member of the American Watchmakers and Clock makers Institute.
 
* Steve Tipton, Antiquarian: 
Steve Tipton has been a notable local antiquarian for years now and owns an antique shop on Lexington Road. Mr. Tipton was also the President of the Brennan House Historic Home’s Board for many years and has extensive knowledge of the Brennan Family Collection.
*Anne Livisi, Dolfinger’s:
Anne Livisi will be available to answer questions on china, particularly mid-twentieth century china. Anne comes to us from Dolfinger’s  which has had a long history of importing the finest European china and crystal to the River City. 
 
*Schmidilin’s Silversmiths:
Schmidilin’s Silversmiths are the foremost silversmiths in our area. The representatives from Schmidilin’s will be able to answer all your silver repair and maintenance questions! Make sure to check out their shop off Frankfort Avenue!

 

*Issac’s Gallery Antique and Estate Jewelry:
A representative from Issac’s Gallery will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about your antique especially antique and estate jewelry. Issac’s Gallery has a stunning gallery filled with estate and antique jewelry for sale and they also provide appraisal services for most antiques.

Throughout the event you will be able to tour the mansion, including Dr. J.A.O Brennan’s Doctor’s Office. Special for this event we will be displaying artifacts from our special collections, not usually on display, including the Brennan Family China and Silver!

Bike To Thunder !

bikeparkingsmThe Kentucky Derby Festival and Bike Louisville have teamed to up provide free Bike Valet Parking during
this year’s Thunder of Louisville’s event. The bicycle parking facility will open at noon the day of Thunder
Over Louisville, Saturday, April 20, and close at 11 P.M. Just ride to Witherspoon Street and look for the bicycle parking
area directly behind Slugger Field .
How does it work?? Ride to Thunder and just check in your bike, get a wristband at the booth and
return with your wristband to retrieve your bicycle. Volunteers will record your name, bicycle type
(brand name) and color of your bicycle. It’s a free service, sponsored by Louisville Metro to make
Louisville more bike friendly!

Festival of Flowers – May 11th 9am-3pm

The Beechmont Neighborhood Association will hold its annual Festival of Flowers Saturday May 11th at the Gazebo at the corner of Southern Parkway and Woodlawn Avenue from 9:00 AM. till 3:00 PM.

Admission is free for all.

This year we will be selling Herbs, Perennials and many bedding plants.

We will have a variety of gardening and craft items for sale

Food will be available for purchase.

Music will be provided all day through the entire event.

Face and Flower Pot Painting for the Children

All proceeds directly benefit the Beechmont Neighborhood.
