Legal Aid also releases dates for Ask-A-Lawyer Clinics

LOUISVILLE, KY— The Legal Aid Society will offer a free tax clinic for veterans on Thursday, March 28th, at 10:00 AM at the Legal Aid offices (416 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd., 3rd Floor).

Attorneys and trained volunteers will be on hand to help veterans and their families prepare current and past year tax returns. Clients who are determined to owe past year taxes will also have the opportunity to speak to an attorney about resolving their delinquent taxes and may qualify for representation in obtaining a resolution.

Prospective clients must meet federal poverty guidelines and be a veteran, the immediate family member of a veteran, or a surviving spouse of a veteran.

A reservation for the clinic is required.  Please call (502) 584-1254, extension 3006, to make your reservation.

This clinic is funded by grants from AmeriCorps, Equal Justice Works, and the Kentucky Bar Foundation to ensure low-income military veterans have access to civil legal services.

In addition, the Legal Aid Society announces dates for Ask-A-Lawyer clinics.  A Legal Aid advocate will be on hand at each clinic to consult with clients on civil legal problems that include, but are not limited to, divorce, child support, custody, bankruptcy, consumer issues, criminal record expungements, wills, powers of attorney, landlord/tenant issues, probate and guardianship, foreclosure, and small claims.  See below for a list of Ask-A-Lawyer clinics.
